Case study: one stop solution for urban & rural logistics

We were approached by one of India’s largest kitchen appliance companies for managing their logistics.

The Challenge

  • To handle their logistics, the company was working with a few unorganized players in both urban and rural parts of the country.

As a result, the logistics management was fragmented and uncoordinated. There were no clean inventory management systems in place, and there were no systematic processes in place to determine which items were being moved.

The Strategy

They were seeking a partner who could handle all of their transportation requirements end to end.

With our deep presence in rural areas combined with tech savvy solutions for city deliveries we offered a customized and unique solution for urban and rural transit.

The Solution

URBAN

Our AI route planner identifies the optimal vehicle type and distribution plan from customer warehouse to the delivery destination. This solution is helpful whenever an order needs to be delivered within the next several hours

Exclusive stores, distributors, major 3rd party retailers, modern trade stores, and e-commerce were all served by us.

Navata SCS was able to deliver items within the same dayand cost efficiently for each of these clients despite the fact that their distribution plans were varied.

RURAL

We were able to deliver to the most rural locations within 48 hours. We were able to optimize logistics cost while maintaining on-time delivery with our powerful deeply penetrated network, dynamic route planning through the AI route planner. By merging the ‘milk-run’ and ‘hub-n-spoke’ concepts, we were able to accomplish this.

A Milk Run is a delivery method used to transport multiple loads from the supplier to multiple customers in a single route.

The hub and spoke model refers to a distribution method in which a centralized “hub” exists. Everything either originates in the hub or is sent to the hub for distribution to consumers. From the hub, goods travel outward to smaller locations owned by the company, called spokes, for further processing and distribution.

The Result

We were able to minimize prices, eliminate customer frustration in managing different vendors, and boost supply chain visibility with the aid of NSCS Smart Route Optimizer, NSCS Transportation Management System, and NSCS Warehouse Management System.

Because of our ground-level knowledge, we were able to not only build a specific solution, but also implement it and demonstrate significant results.
