Navi Mumbai International Airport Inaugurated

News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Phase 1 of the ₹19,650-crore Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), a major Greenfield project set to transform India’s aviation and cargo ecosystem.

Developed by Adani Group (74%) and CIDCO (26%), NMIA will eventually handle 90 million passengers and 3.25–3.5 million tonnes of cargo annually.

Strategically located near JNPT Port and the Mumbai–Pune corridor, it will serve as a multimodal logistics hub, easing congestion at Mumbai’s CSMIA.

Designed with automated cargo handling, cold chains, and MRO facilities, NMIA aims to position India as a global aviation and cargo hub, aligning with the Make in India vision and boosting Maharashtra’s role as a logistics powerhouse through green and sustainable infrastructure.
