4 Round of India–New Zealand FTA Negotiations

News: India and New Zealand concluded several chapters of their proposed free trade agreement (FTA) during the third round of talks, held from Monday to Friday, with significant progress in other areas.
The commerce and industry ministry confirmed that the next in-person round is scheduled for October 13–14 in New Delhi.
Both countries emphasized their commitment to strengthening economic ties and achieving a balanced, mutually beneficial agreement.
Formal FTA negotiations began on March 16. India’s bilateral merchandise trade with New Zealand grew 49% in FY25 to $1.3 billion.
The proposed FTA is expected to boost trade, promote investments, enhance supply chain resilience, and provide a predictable framework for businesses, further deepening economic cooperation between the two nations.
