India Extends RoDTEP Export Incentive Program

India Extends RoDTEP Export Incentive Program

News: The Indian government has extended its flagship export incentive program, RoDTEP (Remission of Duties and Taxes on Export Products), until March 2026, according to the commerce ministry.

Originally set to expire on September 30, the scheme reimburses exporters for taxes, duties, and levies not covered under other refund programs, reducing manufacturing and export costs.

The extension comes amid rising global trade pressures, including the US doubling tariffs on products such as textiles, leather, and food items.

RoDTEP covers over 10,000 products across sectors like agriculture, textiles, and engineering, offering rebates of 1–4% of product value.

The move aims to strengthen India’s export ecosystem, protect manufacturers, and maintain global competitiveness despite increasing trade barriers.
