Govt Launches Enhanced Logistics Data Bank

News: The government has launched the second version of the Logistics Data Bank System, enabling real-time tracking of export containers on high seas and truck movements across India, according to NICDC CEO Rajat Kumar Saini.
Developed by NICDC Logistics Data Services (NLDSL), the upgraded platform enhances multi-modal shipment visibility across road, rail, and sea, allowing exporters to track containers even after leaving Indian ports.
The system includes a live container heatmap to monitor distribution and identify bottlenecks, improving planning, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
Saini noted the initiative will strengthen supply chain management and global credibility.
Work on 12 new industrial cities approved by the Union Cabinet, with a total investment of ₹28,602 crore, is progressing rapidly, with 11 cities set to begin development by December.
