Uber Challenges Porter with New Courier XL Service

News: Uber has expanded its logistics offerings in India with the launch of ‘Courier XL’, a same-day delivery service for heavier packages up to 750 kg, using three-wheelers like Bajaj Maxima and four-wheelers like Tata Ace.
Initially piloted in Bengaluru, the service is now available in other metros like Delhi, directly competing with players like Porter.
The move taps into the booming intra-city logistics demand driven by e-commerce. Uber had earlier introduced a ‘Shop Pick-Up’ feature and a zero-commission SaaS model for auto drivers to counter rivals like Rapido and Namma Yatri. With over 3 billion rides completed in India, Uber is now eyeing last-mile delivery as a key growth area amid rising competition and evolving mobility trends.
