Logistics Policies For Growth

News:  The Logistics Division of the Ministry of Commerce has urged States and Union Territories (UTs) to develop state-specific logistics policies to drive economic growth and enhance India’s global competitiveness.

A recent report emphasized addressing regional challenges through tailored policies with clear implementation timelines.

Key recommendations include establishing robust institutional frameworks, leveraging IT solutions like real-time cargo tracking, and automating processes to enhance efficiency. The report also stressed workforce skill development, incentivizing green logistics practices, and adopting digital platforms like the Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP) for seamless data sharing. It urged measurable goals with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to reduce logistics costs, increase rail freight share, and promote electric vehicles (EVs) for sustainable progress.
